Monocacy Men’s Health Program Components
Our ED treatment program features the following components:
Acoustic Shockwave Therapy
We utilize Acoustic Shockwave Therapy, a leading-edge and highly innovative all-natural sexual rejuvenation therapy. It offers a way to restore sexual health and confidence without use of surgery, injection or drugs.
Acoustic Shockwave Therapy’s noninvasive and low-intensity sound waves are delivered into the penis’ tissue to stimulate healing. In just minutes, sound waves promote healing and restoration of your natural sexual function. These sound waves clear plaque out of blood vessels while stimulating new blood vessels’ growth.
Acoustic Shockwave Therapy reverses critical underlying issues causing erectile dysfunction or Peyronie’s disease, a condition caused by scar tissue, or plaque, that results in a bent erect penis.

Erectile Dysfunction Stretches, Exercises and Other Tools

Stretches & Exercises
Stretches and exercises can help reverse erectile dysfunction. Stretching and strengthening exercises may help in regaining or maintaining an erection, decreasing premature ejaculation and decreasing or preventing penile or pelvic floor pain. This may involve stretching the pelvic floor muscles and tissues if they are restricted.Penis Enlarger
Use of a penis enlarger—also called a penis pump, stretcher or vacuum—may be used on the shaft of the penis to assist with scar mobilization with the goal of improving penis length and decreasing penis curvature. A penis enlarger consists of a plastic tube that fits over the penis, a hand- or battery-powered pump attached to the tube, and a band, also referred to as a constriction ring, that fits around the penis’ base once it is erect.
Training and Education
Training and education in use of a pump is provided because failure to benefit from these pumps often occur without adequate training and understanding of the exercise progression and steps necessary to start providing adequate oxygen to the penis. Improving blood flow to the penis assists in improving size, girth and erection strength.
The use of various devices, including penile pumps, is always guided by the goal of the body’s returning to natural healthy function so that, eventually, achieving full and sustained erections does not require these assisting devices.
Penile pumps or other devices to assist with stimulating new vasculature growth and improving blood flow and normalizing tissue tension may also be recommended. There are many penile pumps available, some good and some that may injury the penile tissue.
We will also explore the important role testosterone plays in decreasing body fat, increasing muscle mass, improving heathy heart, brain function, libido, cognition and decreasing depression. We will discuss healthy and safe ways to optimize testosterone levels naturally and how to get your testosterone level tested accurately. Monocacy Men’s Health will assist with physician referrals if desired.
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy such as myofascial release, joint mobilization, trigger point identification and release, nerve gliding and tension release, and visceral manipulation are integral components to a comprehensive approach to Monocacy Men’s Health treatment sessions.
Another tool we may use is a penile vibrator (ejaculatory model). Prostate and male sexual health is best maintained with two to five ejaculations per week. This assists with maintaining a healthy prostate, exercising and strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, and providing for oxygenated blood flow to penile tissue to improve male sexual health.

The Monocacy Men’s Health program involves Holistically addressing issues to help reverse erectile dysfunction and improve male sexual health.
Biofeedback Via EMG
Biofeedback in the form of electromyography (EMG) may be used with internal rectal sensors or surface electrodes. Pressure, movement and pulse to support proper muscle activation and relaxation
Ultrasound and Myofascial Release Stretching
Ultrasound may be used on the penis to facilitate stretching the scar area. Physical therapists have been using traditional ultrasound for decades to heat tissues to improve blood flow and elasticity with stretching.
Scar and plaque restrictions—caused by excessive shots into the penis or effects from Peyronie’s disease, diabetes, cardiovascular disease or possible trauma from excessive bicycle seat pressure—can be addressed to alleviate some of these painful and potential limitations that can affect sexual health.
Appropriate heating of scar tissue through ultrasound followed by stretching may assist in reducing the restrictions and, therefore, reducing penis curve and returning to the normal length when the penis is erect.
Discussion on Healthy Living
The best way to prevent ED is to lead a healthy lifestyle.
We take a holistic approach to sexual health to encourage healthy living that includes regular exercise, understanding potential side effects and benefits of medications and herbal remedies, nutritional considerations, breathing technique training, effects of smoking and alcohol, medical conditions that can affect ED and referral recommendations, if needed, for talk therapy, lab work or medical screening to rule out other issues. I will discuss stress, anxiety and Big Head bad thinking, all of which can be an underlying cause of ED. I will talk about the neurological effects via hormone releases and neuromodulation, often triggered by the brain, that can prevent erections.
